I’ve been out 7 months now after spending the last 3 years in that hell hole. I’m so proud of myself, and also so proud of the support I have. I also have 6 kids with one on the way. My kids is my life, I’m very family-oriented, and every move I make in my life is for them.”
Crystal writes, “My name is Crystal W. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and have 5 children. I’m working on being a better person and am currently 9 years into my sobriety. Minali is an artist, organizer, and PhD student. In the past two years she has been interested in exploring ways to help incarcerated creatives share their work and build sustainable sources of income through their art and other forms of creative expression.
Caren Holmes is an abolitionist organizer, educator, facilitator, and turtle island settler based in Brooklyn. She has organized and built power with incarcerated comrades for the last seven years.
